Emerson to recruit 300 for new center in Pune

NEW DELHI: Emerson has announced that it would establish a new engineering center in Pune for product design and software development to meet growing customer demand in India and throughout Asia. The Emerson Design and Engineering Center would employ some 300 engineers within two years and collaborate with Emerson engineering teams throughout the world.





Emerson continues to grow its local presence in the region to meet customers needs and offer faster response as their customers grow their businesses in India and throughout Asia. India represents about seven percent of the company's in Asia-Pacific, which have grown from $420 million in 1991 to $1.6 billion in 2002. Emerson has had a presence in India for more than 20 years, and today there are 15 Emerson businesses in India, with about 2,200 employees people in 14 plants and 90 sales offices around the country.





David N Farr, CEO, Emerson, said, "We're excited about the high quality of engineering talent in India, and we will anticipate this center will work closely with our established Export Engineering Center here in Pune, with our International Engineering Center in New Delhi, and will integrate around the clock with other engineering centers serving all of Emerson's businesses".
