EMC, PSG college inks education agreement

CHENNAI, INDIA : EMC today announced that the PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore has signed an agreement with EMC (Benelux) B.V. SARL, a subsidiary of EMC Corporation, to join the EMC Academic Alliance Program (EAA) in India.

According to this program, PSG College of Technology will offer a course in Information storage technology to its students starting from January 2008.

As part of the EAA, PSG College of Technology will receive vendor agnostic curriculum, course content, learning materials, faculty trainings and software simulators developed by EMC, to provide training to their students.

EMC will also provide program support in terms of examination papers and sample assignments.

EMC has forged alliances with over 75 education institutions across India. And today, more than 3000 students are enrolled in similar information storage courses across India as part of the EAA, EMC said in a statement.

Dr R Rudramoorthy, principal, PSG College of Technology, said, “This agreement with EMC will enable our students to learn about the latest technologies in the information storage and management space, the fastest growing segment of the IT industry.”

“We are confident that the partnership with EMC will help us impart the relevant skills to our students and produce industry ready graduates that are prepared to contribute efficiently to the fast growing information storage and management industry,” he added.
