EMC names Debashis Patnaik as HR head

BANGALORE, INDIA: EMC India Center of Excellence (COE) today announced the appointment of Debashis Patnaik as the head of the Human Resources division.

Debashis will be taking over from R.Vidyasagar in this role who is moving on to the next phase of his career in human resources.

Debashis will be responsible for overseeing talent acquisition, building a strong foundation in many of the key people management practices that can enable future growth, employee engagement and organizational development of the India COE with particular reference to developing industry leading talent within the COE, said a press release.

Sarv Saravanan, senior vice president and MD, EMC India COE said, “While data is becoming a highly valuable asset to organizations, the information infrastructure industry continues to grow at an alarming rate and is demanding more and more trained IT professionals.”

He said EMC believes that talent leveraging can happen through innovation and creativity.

“We provide employees the opportunity to do cutting edge-work and are a futuristic thinking organization. I believe with Debashis’s stature and experience we will continue to nurture this culture at the COE,” added Saravanan.

Debashis brings over 21 years of experience with him. He joins EMC COE from Cisco Systems where he worked as director — HR, in an HR Business Partner role for the Services Sales group within Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific. Debashis has also worked with Microsoft, Ernst & Young Consulting India, Cadence Design Systems and Hughes Software Systems in his prior assignments.
