The goal of the initiative is to design a class of products with a superior combination of cost, performance and energy efficiency. eInfochips will gain access to ARMv8-A and ARMv7 architecture-based processors as part of its membership to the ARM Connected Community, which enables technology companies to get ARM Powered® products to market faster.

"Consumers are coming to expect breathtaking graphical displays in everything from their car to home automation systems," said Parag Mehta, eInfochips' CMO. "eInfochips is there with low-cost, low-power, ARM-based devices supporting 3D graphics, visual computing, augmented reality, procedural texture generation, and voice recognition."

The company plans to introduce products in 2015 for next-generation flight control systems, medical imaging devices, point-of sale systems, tablet computers and home automation systems, among others.

"The ARM Connected Community is all about companies working together to provide the most complete solutions in the shortest possible time. By joining the Community, eInfochips increases the large portfolio of skills and products that are centered around the ARM architecture and currently available to developers worldwide," said Lori Kate Smith, senior manager, Community Programs for ARM.
