HYDERABAD: Eicher Group, one of the leading automobile company is using

Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server to improve productivity, reduce costs

and enhance information access across its countrywide business.

Prior to adopting Citrix, the remote offices at the Eicher Group shared
information via e-mail and mobile users accessed information from Eicher's

network via designated Web pages. The company needed an efficient way to

collect and disseminate information across the organization, including its

mobile sales staff. Besides, they wanted help in managing application

deployment at remote locations.

According to the Eicher Group

IT head Rajesh Mishra, Citrix provided Eicher Group a technology solution to

orchestrate its information flow from factories to offices and vice versa.

"Apart from enabling uniform information access, Citrix helped improve
productivity and reduce IT infrastructure and management costs. Citrix

software today plays a strategic role in Eicher's information management,"

said Mishra.

According to him currently all business applications at Eicher are being
managed through the centralized administration capabilities of Citrix

MetaFrame Presentation Server. The task of deploying new applications and

upgrades has been reduced from a weeklong affair to a couple of hours. It

has enabled the company to maintain zero escalation in its bandwidth budget

for the last two years -- translating into a 35 to 40 percent savings on

communication expenses.

Said Eicher Group technology solutions senior manager Manoj Gautam, "Citrix
has not only helped us in making important information available to all

users irrespective of location and time, but has also aided in eliminating

delays in updates and inter-office communication, thereby making it

real-time information."
