Features: Networking company Dax Networks has announced the launch of DX-5025MG, an SNMP managed layer 2 Switch targeted at the SMBs and large enterprises.

The 5025 MG confirms to IEEE 802.1x standards and offers various levels of access security including user name and MAC address verification.

These can be used to implement user level security irrespective of the application on which they are running. Implementing VLAN segmenting prevents members of one group from accessing data of another group.

With ports ranging between 100 FX to a gigabit, fibre/copper, 5025 MG offers flexibility for uplinking. A configurable port with bandwidth ranging between 100 kbps and 200 Mbps optimizes the use of the bandwidth available in the network. It supports broadcast storm prevention enabling the reduction of network down time.

The fail-over function of the switch provides redundant back up against port malfunction. Additionally, the 5025 MG supports both Port-based VLAN and Tag-based VLAN, simplifying network traffic segmentations, broadcast domain extension and other associated benefits of constructing VLANs.

The switch is interoperable with various networks from the legacy to the latest, which enables investment protection. The product also allows configuration through single IP management with the help of which multiple switches can be stacked.

Price: Rs 25, 370/- the DX-5025MG comes with a three-year warranty.
