Highlighting on the NI's Graphical system design tools, Dr. Truchard said, "Graphical system design offers a productive software and re-configurable hardware platform, along with rapidly growing ecosystem of IP which enable engineers and scientists equip with tools that accelerate productivity, innovation and discovery."

"Many of us are now moving forward with software based approach," he added.

Dr. Truchard also highlighted on emergence of "cyber physical systems". A cyber-physical system (CPS) is a system of collaborating computational elements controlling physical entities.

Also, NI introduced the latest version of LabVIEW system design software, LabVIEW 2013, that utilizes the most current and powerful technologies to make the design of complex systems more intuitive than ever.

LabVIEW 2013 facilitates the management, documentation and debugging of increasingly complex systems. LabVIEW 2013 adds support for the Linux Real-Time OS, giving developers access to dynamic, community-sourced libraries.

Jayaram Pillai, MD, NI (India, Russia and Arabia) said: "NIDays 2013 has brought together LabVIEW developers from all over India to share best practices. The annual Graphical System Design Achievement Awards aims to highlight efforts by engineers, scientists and researchers for their innovative test, measurement and embedded control applications."

"With the large pool of knowledge that we have in India, NI's open platform provides an opportunity to quickly bring ideas to reality and, through the LabVIEW Tools Network, gain market access around the world," added Pillai.

"NI leads the revolution in the instrumentation field with a software-defined approach to building systems. Being a global organization, NI has some region specific programs including Planet NI. The mission of Planet NI is to empower engineers in emerging countries to achieve sustainable prosperity by providing increased access to NI technology," he said.

NI Application of the year

The NI Application of the Year was awarded to the team from VSSC Trivandrum (ISRO), AERO department, for their application titled ‘Development of 1 m Hypersonic wind tunnel Control, Networking, Data acquisition system and graphical display system.'

National Instruments also unveiled two of its flagship products - LabVIEW 2013 and NI cRIO-9068 Controller - during the event.
