ALEXANDRIA, USA: After a successful beta test, Filter Forge, Inc. has announced the final release of Mac OS X version of Filter Forge, an innovative high-end plugin for Adobe Photoshop allowing computer artists to build their own filters, seamless textures, visual effects, distortions, patterns, backgrounds, frames and more.
Filters are assembled from components such as blurs, gradients, color adjustments, distortions, or blending, into a network to combine their effects.
For end-users, the filter internals are hidden behind a simple set of filter controls, anyone can immediately benefit from filters without having to learn their inner workings.
According to the press realease, all filters are adjustable, seamlessly tiled, resolution independent, support real-world HDRI lighting, and can automatically generate diffuse, specular, bump, and normal maps.
Filter Forge works on Mac OS X 10.4 or higher on both Intel and PowerPC processors. It can be used as a stand-alone application or as a plugin under Adobe Photoshop CS2, CS3 and CS4.
