Dematic designs, builds and supports logistics solutions that optimise material and information flow - from receiving to shipping. It offers a consultative and holistic engineering approach that drives the development of non-biased, data-driven logistics solutions that optimise the user's supply chain. A typical Dematic solution is built around process improvements, material handling technology, and software. System configurations may be manually operated, mechanised or automated.

Katie Wierengo, Dematic senior vice president, supply chain said: "By leveraging the aPriori platform, Dematic will manage costs for our automated technology solutions. The software will provide our engineering and strategic sourcing professionals with real-time cost feedback on 3D computer-aided designs (CAD) and continuous visibility into product cost performance as designs develop and change."

The aPriori software leverages CAD and intelligent cost models to quickly and automatically generate detailed manufacturing analysis and cost estimates that quantify the impact of changes to product design, materials, manufacturing processes, volumes and location in real time.

The software also enables users to leverage product cost data hosted in other critical enterprise applications to communicate product cost information between all functional organisations involved in product definition and delivery. This includes the import of complex engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs) from ERP, PLM or other enterprise applications.

"aPriori is pleased to have been selected by Dematic to support their work in optimising product design and manufacturing process time," said Stephanie Feraday, president and CEO of aPriori.
