NEW DELHI: Deltagram, a Chennai-based satellite messaging company, has
announced a roaming facility for its popular E-Call service. Besides this, in a
technology upgradation, Deltagram has developed technology integration for its
messaging services from VSAT to GSM-based hubs.
The company has set up GSM technology-based hubs in Bangalore, Hyderabad,
Vellore, Cochin, and Pune to service the requirements of Karnataka, Andhra
Pradesh, Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu (other than Chennai), Kerala, Maharashtra and
Pune. The VSAT-based connectivity
would be relocated to cover shadow areas in each state and for offices, which
will handle financial products for applications like money transfer, for which a
roll out program is being drawn up.
The company has also created several new product concepts, which will fully
utilize the capabilities and the strengths of the GSM technology platform. These
products in the domain of voice messaging and fax services will be shortly
launched in the consumer marketplace.
With the introduction of the GSM with roaming facility, the E-Call services
of the company are available over a single number throughout the state as 'local
call'. The caller will have to just purchase the card, at Rs 5 per card, call
the hub center number and dictate the message. The message will reach the
destination number anywhere in the country within 15 minutes. The hubs are
opened 24 hours a day to facilitate instant communication. The center numbers
are mentioned on the cards.
