Dell unveils new desktop, notebook PC

BANGALORE, INDIA: Dell has unveiled a desktop and a notebook computer as part of its strategy to provide feature rich systems aimed at consumer market.

XPS M 1530 Notebook boasting an ergonomic design on a sleek body promises a rich mobile experience with some of the premium accessories being integrated into the system as standard offering. The 15.4 inch high definition widescreen display is being targeted at the upwardly mobile users. Priced at Rs 53,000 (excluding taxes), XPS 1530 comes loaded with built-in webcam, fingerprint reader and touch sensitive multimedia buttons, said Girish Mehta, Director for Consumer Marketing, Dell India.

The company also launched a multi-media desktop computer priced at Rs 65,000 with unique body features and applications. Dell XPS 420 combines in its regular software suite, the Adobe Elements Studio Software, which with simple operating aids makes home photo, video and audio editing easy.

Unique features like Dell Xcelerator and Microsoft’ Sideshow technology adds value to the desktop as these features come as standard offerings.

The Sideshow technology is a small colour display integrated into the front panel of the CPU to provide easy access to stored media, certain system functions and standard Widows Sideshow gadgets without having to use the keyboard or mouse.
