Dell launches new range of laptops

NEW DELHI, INDIA: PC maker Dell announced on Tuesday that it has launched new business computing solutions and form factors including laptops and tablets, to address the needs of an evolving workforce that demands anytime, anywhere access to business applications and data.

The newly launched Latitude E family of laptops include more than 100 design improvements and a range of new features, said Dell.

Dell said the new additions to the Latitude family support a range of usage needs. The Latitude E5420 and E5520 laptops - for professionals looking for a budget-conscientious blend of mobility and at-your-desk computing.

The Latitude E6220, E6320, E6420, E6520 and E6420 ATG laptops are designed for demanding conditions, with hard-wearing MIL-STD tested Tri-Metal casing and highly durable displays.

The new Latitude laptops offer completely new design and security with facilities like Dell Data Protection, Remote Data Delete, Free Fall Sensor.

Other highlights are:

Planned support for pre-integrated Citrix and VMware remote desktop client

Latitude commonality across 26 models — 1 dock, battery, keyboard footprint

Enterprise platform with backlit keyboard options for productivity anywhere

Intel Sandy Bridge processors and new graphics and memory.

The laptops come with the concept of optional backlit keyboard and multi touch-screen options.

“These solutions will help meet enterprise needs for increased flexibility and access whilst also meeting IT requirements for manageability and security,” said S Sridhar, director, Marketing, India relationship, Dell India.

Dell said the new range comprises a number of features that aim to meet business needs, high demand of security, tackling environmental changes and extra features for organizations of all sizes.
