Dell to launch tablets for consumer segment in India

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Dell will soon mark its entry into the consumer tablet market in India. The company claims that tablet market will focus on both the consumer and BYOD segment.

The company will be launching three variants of tablet in 7inch, 8inch and 10inch screen size categories. The 8inch screen size will be on both the Android as well as Window tablet, whereas, the 7inch and the 10inch will have Android and Windows as the OS, respectively.

Shishir Singh, director-EUC Marketing, India, said: "It is the market expansion which Dell is looking forward through tablets in consumer segment. After the success of Enterprises segment, we are going to provide the unique feature to the consumer segment as well."

On asking about the pricing of the tablets, he added: "We are working on the pricing of the tablets. As soon as we settle on the pricing we shall announce the launch of the tablets, tentatively which is expected next month. He also emphasis, we are still in the PC segment, we are still stronger in PC segment. "

Dell is also looking forward to expand its product portfolio for enterprise solution with distributor. Dell will be focus on four segments onwards namely, enterprise, computing, software and consumer.
