NEW YORK, USA: Dell Inc said that it has agreed to acquire storage optimization technology company Ocarina Networks for an undisclosed amount.
The deal is expected to close by the end of July.

San Jose, California-based Ocarina is privately held and was founded in 2007. The company supplies technology that helps reduce storage space requirements and the amount of redundant data.
Dell said it plans to invest in additional engineering and sales capability at Ocarina, and has no plans to move the operation.
