DX-5749XGS is a high-density 48-port Gigabit backbone multilayer switch with 10G expansion capabilities. This switch has advanced security features and is targeted at mid-size and large enterprises, Dax said in a statement.

To secure high bandwidth, it offers non-blocking 164Gbps switch capacity. It supports Layer 3 (L3) features like static routes, multi-netting, supernetting (CIDR), RIP I and II, OSPF routing, IP multicast routing: DVMRP, PIM-DM/SM, IP redundancy – VRRP etc.

DX-5749XGS supports advanced IEEE 802.1p feature and L3 packet classifications, which help in prioritizing various tasks on the network—a crucial function for integrating voice and data over a switched network. DX-5749XGS offers QoS features to support enhanced coverage of voice, video, data and storage, Dax statement added.

DX-5749XGS has a closed loop stacking architecture that is designed to protect the network investment with resilient links. If one of stacked units crashes, the other units in the same stack can keep running to a stacking bandwidth of 40 Gbps.

By virtue of its multiple security algorithms such as Port Security, SSL, Web Management Encryption, Radius and TACACS+, it delivers total protection from network security related risks. It supports NSMP, RMON, DHCP and BOOTP.

An L3 managed switch, DX-5749XGS has 48 10/100/1000 Base T ports, 4 Gigabit SFP combo ports, 2 10G Stacking ports and 1 10 Giga expansion slot.

DX-5749XGS comes with a three-year carry-in warranty and online support to its customers. It is available for Rs 4,11,370. Dax plans to market this product through its system integrators and strong channel presence comprising 500 solution providers and 5000 resellers.
