MUMBAI: After an exceptional year that saw the company post 69 percent growth, Datacraft India has lowered its projection to 22 percent this year. The company would be targeting the banking, finance and telecom sector to drive this growth and expects services to contribute around 35 percent of the total while the remaining would come from products.

According to Datacraft’s Indian sub-continent Regional Director C Dilip Kumar, the company’s booking for fiscal ending March 2003 jumped from Rs 174 crore in FY 2001-02 to Rs 288.23 crore. This enabled the company to register a healthy 66.71 percent growth over the previous year. The services business grew by 126.36 percent and contributed 26 percent to the overall revenues of the company. The Products business grew by 66 percent and contributed 74 percent to the revenue share. The banking, finance and insurance (BFI) and
ITES (BPO and call centers) sectors continued to be the mainstay of Datacraft India with as-much-as 69 percent of revenues coming from these two sectors.

Software and export oriented units (EOUs) was the third largest contributor with 15.5 percent and telecom came next with 11.17 percent. Together, these four sectors contributed 94.6 percent to the overall revenues for FY 2002-03. This year too the company is expecting the contribution in the same proportion from all these sectors. The top 10 customers contributed 47.7 percent to the revenue as compared to 44.5 percent for the previous financial year.

"There were lots of initiatives that we took last year in terms of services which led to the growth of the company in India. This year we are going to focus on that only," Kumar said.

The last year saw Datacraft bagging projects from Banking and Financial Services and ITES sector. It also consolidated its position in the ITES segment by including new customers in its list. The year also saw Datacraft lapping up the opportunity presented by the opening of telecom sector and bagged major projects from ISPs, NLD & ILD telephony providers, Cellular service providers and other telecom service providers.
