“This announcement supports Dassault Systèmes’ PLM strategy, by extending DELMIA’s footprint in Digital Manufacturing and Production to reach a large community of new users on the shop floor,” adds Philippe Charlès, CEO, DELMIA, Dassault Systèmes.

He added that leading aerospace customers like Embraer have chosen DELMIA and Intercim to plan and run their global manufacturing operations and this acquisition demonstrates our continued commitment to this industry.

John Todd, CEO, Intercim said, “Engineers are now empowered with real-time visibility into manufacturing operations to ensure their designs are compliant with their organization’s layout and capabilities. Conversely, manufacturing personnel are provided with an opportunity to diagnose problems they encounter and present them to engineering."

The combining values of DELMIA and Intercim bring together the factory communities with the manufacturing and product engineers, for an immediate common understanding of the products being built with their potential non-conformance and deviations, said a press release.

Dassault Systèmes’ investment in Intercim, a partner since 2004, follows a June 2008 Memorandum of Understanding to provide the aerospace and defense industry with Intercim's web-based manufacturing operations management solution integrated with Dassault Systèmes' V6 platform, a 2009 minority investment and a 2010 Master Reseller Agreement, the release added.
