Designers, engineers, and researchers in a broad range of industries use Abaqus to predict the real-world behavior of products, materials, and manufacturing processes, said a press release.

This latest release delivers new features and enhancements for modeling, advanced mechanics, and performance. These ongoing improvements are enabling customers to consolidate their simulation software, thereby lowering cost and increasing efficiency in their product development process, the release added.

“To meet product performance requirements within ever-shorter product development timelines, it is imperative that we perform physically accurate design simulations as fast as possible,” said Kirk Siefker, senior analytical engineer, Engine Components, Schaeffler Group USA.

“With the improved implicit dynamic capabilities in Abaqus 6.9-EF, we are able to simulate the realistic performance of our engine component and system designs 30 per cent faster while enhancing our product’s overall performance,” Siefker added.

“The extended functionality of Abaqus underscores our ongoing commitment to delivering customer-driven enhancements to our realistic simulation software more quickly,” stated Steve Crowley, director of product management, SIMULIA, Dassault Systèmes.
