D-Link India CMD KR Naik said, "The success of this initiative will open doors to substantial business from other international companies."

The center has a capacity of 100 seats and is presently manned by over 50 engineers. The company plans to increase the capacity to 200 seats. The overall investment would be in the range of $1 million.

Currently, D-Link, USA, outsources around 200 seats to three companies in the US, which costs around $ 10 million. "This call center would come to the support center and we expect to cater to 20 percent of current call traffic." Naik added.

In the first year, the company would handle only D-Link products and then consider taking up contracts from other clients. It plans to make it as a profit making center and then have a look at setting up a wholly owned subsidiary for this business.
