CyberMedia H1 revenues grows 24 p.c.

BANGALORE, INDIA: CyberMedia India Ltd, largest specialty media house in South Asia and amongst India's top five magazine publishers posted total income of Rs 69 crore for the period April to September 2008 (half yearly) with a growth of 24 per cent compared to Rs 55.75 crore posted during the same period previous year.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) for the period was at Rs 63.65 million and profit before tax was at Rs 9.90 million for the six months period.

For the second quarter period, revenues of the company has increased by 12.5 per cent to Rs 36 crore from Rs 32.62 posted during the corresponding period in 2007.

During the H1 period, the company saw an improved performance in its media services business. EBITDA from media services was at Rs 7.6 million during 2007-08 was increased to 20.7 million during 2008-9 showing a growth of 172 per cent.

Its Media Services include IDC India, the leading IT and telecom research company in the region; custom publishing (TDA Group LLC) and content management services (Publication Services Inc.).

During the quarter the company has launched an SMS based news service to cover the latest in the world of mobile gadgets and technology news, in association with MyToday Dailies, India's fastest-growing opt-in SMS service.

With this service, mobile users can get the latest updates on tech news and gadgets, free of charge. CyberMedia will use its vast network of 15 publications and over 100 technology reporters to serve readers through this rapidly emerging mobile news medium.
