BANGALORE: 24/7 Customer has announced the launch of partnership program with Bharathiar University to source and develop talent for the BPO industry.

As a part of the program, Nagarajan, co-founder and chief operating officer of 24/7 Customer held a meeting with over 100 placement officers from 108 colleges spread over Madurai, Thirunelveli, Tiruchy that come under the aegis of Bharathiar University.

They discussed about the career opportunities in BPO that can be imparted to over 40,000 graduates who pass out every year.

The day also marked the commencement of the “24/7 Ascend” programme in Coimbatore, an innovative “industry–academia” partnership program for the BPO industry. It is designed to educate and equip the students, the faculty and the institutions about the BPO industry and leverage the career opportunities it offers, a 24/7 statement said.

24/7 Ascend was first launched in Andhra Pradesh in May 2006, and later this year in the North-Eastern states of India and Karnataka.

Speaking on the occasion, Nagarajan, said, “The 24/7 Customer-Bharathiar University partnership will help to attract and develop fresh talent pool from Tier 2 cities. This partnership will also facilitate educational institutions to align their curriculum with industry requirements. “24/7 Ascend” will address this need to create a talent pool that will be better prepared and exposed to the unique skills required for a career in the BPO industry, which is people oriented and talent driven.”
