CSR's BlueCore lands 1000th home

CAMBRIDGE, UK: Leading Blutooth technology provider CSR plc, said that over 1000 end-products now use its BlueCore Bluetooth technology.

CSR's BlueCore features in 69 percent of end-products qualified during 2004, as publicly listed on the Bluetooth Website, according to a statement from the company.



CSR asserts its No.1 position with almost ten times as many design wins as its closest competitor, according to the press release.

Its 1000th design win is the BenQ M315.

One year after the launch of the Bluetooth v2.0+EDR specification, CSR's BlueCore4 remains the only EDR silicon inside any qualified end-products, said the company. Dell, MSI, Toshiba, NEC, Cellink,

HP and Apple are some of the big users of the EDR silicon, it said.

The market for EDR is expected to grow rapidly as product manufacturers migrate more of their products to benefit from the higher data rates and lower power consumpti on figures, says the release.
