CSC to open Innovation center in India

NEW DELHI: Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) has announced that it is establishing a strategic innovation center in India.

The company's innovation center in India is one of the three to be established outside the US.

CSC's chief innovation officer and president of the global Office of Innovation Lemur Lasher and CSC CTO and VP Bill Koff are on a visit to Indian to identify how the CSC Office of Innovation in India can be leveraged and more comprehensively integrated with each of the six operating units of CSC's global Office of Innovation.

Declining to reveal the investment that the company would put in the center, Lasher said that the center would come up in Noida and will be operational by April this year. He added that the company would hire depending upon the demand.

CSC's Office of Innovation has been established to set the strategic agenda around Innovation for CSC globally. The office composes of Leading Edge Form (LEF), which offers a powerful, multiclient community to explore management and technology issues, CSC's Research Network, which provides world-class market and industry analysis, Global Alliances group, which creates partnerships with leading technology companies, Global Service Offerings group, which manages the development of CSC's service offerings and CSC's Knowledge Program, which facilitates CSC's internal knowledge enablement and sharing efforts.

Together, the groups share research, best practices and solutions, allowing CSC to create and access intellectual capital across the globe and apply it more effectively.

Elaborating on the reason for selecting India for the center, Lasher said, “We see an important role for India in each of the functions of the global office and we want to integrate what CSC does in India to the work being carried out internationally.”
