The Crichton Carbon Centre has enlisted 45 SMEs in its Sustainable Process Improvements (SPI) programme that uses CloudApps' sustainability platform to track energy consumption, with this figure set to double between now and the end of 2014.

The programme, which is aligned with the Scottish government's priority to shift the country to a low carbon economy, is proving influential in enabling the cultural change necessary to drive improvements to SME business efficiency throughout Scotland and position the country as a leader in sustainable business.

The Crichton Carbon Centre has implemented CloupApps' Sustainability Cloud and CloudApps' services to effectively capture business resource data such as energy and water consumption, allowing businesses to manage and monitor change as resource efficiency recommendations are implemented.

Opening up these sustainability services is allowing Scottish SMEs to stand out from the crowd at a time when sustainability audits are increasingly critical in winning contracts in both the private and public sectors. In addition to its comprehensive reporting capabilities, CloudApps' easy to use application is being used to engage staff on the ground and drive behavioural change, a factor crucial to the success of any resource efficiency programme.

Staff are encouraged to take control of corporate goals which drives innovation from within and maximises their most crucial resource.
