Until around five years ago, corporate communications knew no other means than their standard company website. Now, there are innumerous platforms designed to facilitate connections between companies and their audiences. With the app world constantly churning out new material, the latest and greatest trumping all previous options, even the experts cannot decide which are worth the rising costs.

Andrew Thomas, publisher of Communicate, says: "Although digital and mobile communication options are revolutionising the way organisations engage with the stakeholders, technological uncertainty and the pace of change act as a barrier to best practice. This half day conference will equip delegates with a greater understanding of what, why and how companies can maximise the digital opportunities available to them."

Amongst thousands of geolocational, video, iPad and Android technologies, it is mobile activity that is expected to constitute 50 percent of web traffic within two years. We will be discussing whether the continuation of life in web technology would be simpler or whether we should be embracing responsive technology, HTML5 and standard APIs.

Expert speakers from the app industry and the corporate world will be discussing these concerns; they include Ricardo Carvalho, head of digital at Shell and Rupert Knowles, business development manager at Adobe. These talks will be followed by a drinks and networking break and a lively debate focused on the advantages of responsive web design and HTML5 over the native app.
