Coral Telecom to set up VoIP exchange for IIT Mumbai

MUMBAI: Coral Telecom, a company present in the telecom sector in India and

abroad, has recently bagged order from IIT- Mumbai, to set up a 2500 line VoIP

exchange. This exchange will not only provides VoIP connectivity to all the 2500

subscribers but will also give mobile connectivity through implementation of

DECT (Digital enhanced cordless telephone) technology. Coral Telecom is one of

the first companies in India who has installed a ready VoIP exchange of such a

magnitude. This project is estimated at Rs 1.75 crore.






According to Coral Telecom managing director, Rajesh Tuli, "Today IP has
become a predominant and omnipresent environment with more and more capacity

leased lines available to private sector. Convergence of technology is taking

place and even small users want to take advantages of high speed. There is

expected to be a phenomenal demand for Telephone Exchanges that would

incorporate data switching capabilities along with voice switching".
