Convergys eighth contact center in Gurgaon

GURGAON: Provider of customer care, human resources, and billing services Convergys Corporation today announced that it would open its eighth integrated contact center in Gurgaon, India.

Convergys said in a release that this addition is to support the continued growth in the market for outsourced customer care services in India from new and existing clients in the UK and US in communications and other vertical markets.

Hiring is currently underway for operations staff as well as human resources, information technology, facility management, and training personnel. Full staffing of up to 1,000 employees is expected over the next several months, Convergys said in a statement.

This will be Convergys' fourth contact center in Gurgaon and its eighth in India. It has other facilities in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, and Mumbai.

"The 12,000+ employees in our existing seven contact centers located across India have validated our strong belief that India offers a motivated workforce of highly-dedicated, well-educated, English-speaking professionals," said Clint Streit, executive vice president for Global Customer Care for Convergys.

"Given Convergys' extensive experience as the largest outsourced contact center services provider in the world, we will continue to utilize this pool of talented individuals to deliver consistent, responsive, and cost-effective customer care across multiple channels for many clients," he added.
