BANGALORE: The Deloitte Touche Asia-Pacific Technology Fast 500 ranks the fastest growing technology companies across the Asia-Pacific region, and is based on the percentage growth in turnover over a three-year period, from 1999 to 2001. The companies with year-ends between January and May are assessed on a percentage revenue growth between 2000 and 2002, while all others are assessed on revenue growth between 1999 and 2001. The ranking considers public as well as private companies engaged in the technology sector, including Internet, biotechnology, medical, scientific and IT.

Interestingly, small- to mid-sized companies such as Nucleus Software Exports (278th) and Geometric Software Solutions (157th) scored over biggies such as Tata Consultancy Sevices and Wipro in growth rates. Nucleus stood second among Indian companies. Infosys is placed 113th in overall ranking with a growth rate of 195 per cent. Tata Telecom, the only company in the field of networking and communication among Indian players, appears at 213th position with a growth rate of 43 per cent.
