BANGALORE: Mistral Solutions Private Limited has released, CPCI-910, the first network processor blade for Internet Protocol (IP) packet processing in telecommunications and data communications from Force Computers. Fully configured, the CPCI-910 is ideal for network applications that demand flexible, reliable wireline performance. It also enhances high-density edge and access interfacing.
By implementing two Intel IXP1250 232MHz network processors with a 14-port GigE switch-fabric in a 6U CPCI form-factor, the CPCI-910 offers a cost-effective solution for parallel or pipelined IP packet processing at several protocol levels. According to a media release, the CPCI-910 fits particularly well into platforms with packet-switching backplanes (cPSB) systems like Force's Centellis, CO 21000-12U and EndurX 25K.
With a switch-fabric that supports Layer 2 routing/Layer 3 IP forwarding as well as packet filtering/analysis, it offers up to ten Gigabit Ethernet interfaces for applications such as Quality of Service (QoS) and Network Address Translation (NAT). CPCI-910s are available now through Force's Early Access Unit (EAU) program.
