BANGALORE: A few promoters of eCapital Solutions have come together once again to start Opus Advanced Business Solutions, a company that offers what they call as convergent outsourcing services. According to Opus director of technology, Sunil Jalihal, the new company has devised a methodology to optimize the values for telecom companies while outsourcing their business processes and IT needs.

The company is headquartered in the British Virgin Islands and has its presence in the US and offshore facilities in India. Opus is headed by Rajiv Mathur, who is based in the US. Besides Rajiv and Sunil, others on the board include director of European operations, Bernard Noble, director of business development Steve Fisher, director of HR, Vidya and director of sales, USA, Connie Chillemi.

Opus has been started with promoters' equity. The company hopes to rope in the first trials for it customers in the coming weeks and raise funds from venture capitalists in the next two months. According to Sunil, Opus would require to raise about $5-10 million in the first round.

"There are three steps to our services. The first phase includes outsourcing of IT processes, which is followed by rationalization and maintenance of business processes. Finally, we help telecom organizations reengineer the entire processes and IT management, thereby save further by 20-25 per cent from what traditional outsourcing help," explained Sunil, adding that this methodology can also be extended to other utilities such as cable TV, ISPs, etc.

While admitting that telecom companies are yet to come out of the severe recession, Sunil said that Opus methodology does not require these companies invest additional funds. "In fact they are already spending huge amounts on carrying of the operations themselves. By outsourcing all their non-core processes, there is a significant savings, which is crucial for the companies in the current scenario," he added.

The company has already developed a toolset called HyperRAD, which will help Opus rationalize clients' business processes and re-engineer their IT systems.
