BANGALORE: Apple India managing director Naren Ayyar has put in his papers on Monday for some personal reasons not disclosed by the company spokesperson. Apple India is now merged with Apple ASEAN and together they have formed Apple South Asian. This is a strategic move by the company to make its South Asian operations in to a larger entity.
In the past Apple India has had country heads such as John Brown, RK Gupta, Naresh Thapa and the latest to quit is Naren Ayyar.
Apple India and SAARC countries will be merged with Apple ASEAN, comprising of Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Philipines and will form Apple South Asia. Darke Sani, serving as the managing director of Apple ASEAN will be the managing director for the new entity and will overlook Indian operations well.
Although its immediately not known as to who will look after the Indian operation, all eyes are on Apple India's national sales manager Vir Bhanu. While speaking to CIOL Bureau, erstwhile Apple India, marketing manager Parminder Singh said, "Right now its too early to say who will look after the Indian operations. It is also not known as to whether there will be any operational or structural changes in the Indian operations."
