HYDERABAD: Intelligroup Inc., a strategic IT consulting service provider, has charted out plans to set up three additional development and support centers by the end of 2006. Presently, it has development centers in the US, UK, and India.
Talking about the move, Intelligroup Asia Pvt. Ltd. chief operating officer, Ranjit PrithviRaj said, “We are employing an aggressive ramp-up strategy. Going forward, we would like to have a 50-seater development center in Bangalore, a development and support center and another near-shore center in Middle East by the end of 2006.”
Presently, the company has two facilities in Hyderabad, employing around 1400 people. It further intends to set up another facility in Hyderabad and employ additional 1400 within next year. PrithviRaj said, “We intend to set up another facility in Hyderabad and will grow 50 percent as far as employee base is concerned. We will have another 1400 employees by next year.” Intelligroup house around 2000 employees globally.
Recalling the company's onshore model that earlier fetched maximum revenue pre- 2000, PrithviRaj explained, “It was an onshore model earlier and post 2000 we focused on outsourcing opportunities and the revenue from the same alone grew to $50 million by 2004. Starting 2005 we are focusing on offshore model that presently generates 20 percent revenues and within the next two years, we want to take this to 40 percent.”
