NEW DELHI: Foreign investors are likely to pump in at least $800 million in manufacturing of telecoms equipment and handsets in India in the financial year ending March 2006, the communications minister said.

"It is just the beginning. Things are looking good," Dayanidhi Maran told reporters.

Maran recently met global telecom equipment makers like Nokia and Motorola in France.
