MUMBAI - Reliance Communications Ltd. has secured a bandwidth order worth $35 million from China Netcom, a company source told Reuters. The order involved providing nearly 50 gigabytes of connectivity between China and the west coast of the Untied States for retail broadband operations of the Chinese company, the source said on condition of anonymity. FLAG Telecom, a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Communications would serve the one-year contract. In June, Reliance Communications won a contract from Deutsche Telekom AG to sell 150-200 gigabytes of bandwidth. Last week, the company also signed a $40-million deal with the Bahrain government for a cable system linking the entire Middle East.
