Pratima Harigunani PUNE: MLogica Inc., a Pune-based IT Solutions company is whipping up an appetite for around $10 million in the US government sector along with an aggressive focus on the Indian counterparts.
The company has signed four deals worth $3 million with various US Government Agencies in the past six months. As its CMD Amit Okhandiar reveals, “We expect to book $10 million of business in the US Government Sector over the next twelve months in terms of new business. We have had great success in winning opportunities in US government sector. We definitely want to leverage our strategy and approach to do work in public sector within India.”
The company is eyeing areas like implementing homeland security, tracking and intelligence management systems that has direct application for projects in the Indian public and private sectors as well. Mohan Sinha, Head, Corporate Communications added that mLogica entered the US Government Sector in a focused way six months ago by targeting specialized projects under IT services, database management services, and mobility solutions.
Its first deal was clinched with Dane County, Wisconsin followed by agreements for Port of Long Beach, California, the Department of Purchasing for the State of Kansas, the South Coast Air Quality Management District, Diamond Bar, California and the California State University (CSU). For the Port of Long Beach, services will be provided in Oracle database and application support services while for South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) Microsoft database and software development will be the offerings. While the company caters to enterprise development areas like data management, software development and programming services, mobile & wireless and IT staffing and outsourcing solutions, RFID and Animation are two rapidly growing areas that have demand in both, the government as well as the commercial sector.
“We are using RFID technology to track products for retail companies and it is also being used to track weapons and assets for the US law enforcement agency. Similarly, we are creating animation for music videos and also working with an NGO to create animation for awareness programs for children,” said Okhandiar.
