NEW DELHI: Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) is set to commercialize its e-security solution – ENSAFE, developed at its Hyderabad facility.

Highly placed officials at CDAC Hyderabad said this will be the first time that the R&D body, under the department of Information technology, would be commercializing a product development by a government organization.

ENSAFE is an e-security solution developed by the CDAC’s Hyderabad R&D centre, with the primary objective to protect the end systems from the evolving internal security threats.

“One of our design goals is to enable organizations to deploy ENSAFE without disturbing the existing applications at the same time adding security features transparent to their operations,” sources said.

ENSAFE also addresses the issue of diverse network environments consisting of Windows and Linux. 
“After inviting various partners for commercial launch, CDAC has short listed Hyderabad-based MagnaQuest Technologies, as the company has the core expertise to take the product to the market,” the officials added. 

Designed and developed indigenously at CDAC, Hyderabad, ENSAGE secures TCP and UDP application sessions between the sender and intended recipients with encryption, integrity, machine authentication, forward Error Correction based Reliability support for UDP applications.

The solution is implemented as part of core operating system services, which allows all existing TCP and UDP application to be secured without making any changes to applications. The network policy enforcement at Network, Transport an Application layers allows the administrators to employ variety of controls.

ENSAFE enables the customers to develop their own crypto algorithms with a simple set of APIs, and is easy to use and administer as the package is designed with an attractive graphical console that simplifies the administration tasks.
