NEW DELHI: CDMA wireless phone manufacturer Kyocera Wireless Corp. has announced the appointment of Vishal Goyal as Sales Head, Open Market Operations for the firm's India subsidiary, Kyocera Wireless India Private Ltd (KWI).
Besides being responsible for managing all sales and operator relationships affiliated with the open market channel Goyal will also oversee KWI's two distribution partners in India: Brightstar Corporation, which supports the open market in the northern and eastern regions; and XL Telecom, which supports the southern and western part of the country.
Goyal joins the firm with extensive experience in sales and business management in leading multi-national companies in the consumer technology arena.
Before joining KWI, he was business line manager and the head of Corporate Sales for BenQ India P Ltd. In addition he has held senior positions within Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing, Bee Electronic Machines (Bee-Canon) and Modi Xerox, Ltd.
Goyal has a Masters Degree in Economics from H.N.B. Garhwal University, and holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the U.P. Board of Technical Education Lucknow. He will be based in Mumbai.
KWI has successful relationships in place with Tata Indicom, Reliance Infocomm, BSNL and MTNL, and within the last six weeks has launched seven new phones through Reliance and Tata.
The company has steadily increased its presence in India over the last several years, establishing Kyocera Wireless (India) Pvt. Ltd.in 2003 and adding the Hardware Engineering and Design Services Lab in 2004.
