HYDERABAD: Dalven Printers will launch the web to print facility. The service will use EFI technology wherein individuals and companies can place their orders online.

Orders can be made by logging on to the company website. Apart from visiting and greeting cards, customers will also have the option of printing their stored documents.

Registered users have to convert the stored files into a PDF format. Once submitted, the file will be uploaded to Dalven's server. The company's technical team will then perform the necessary process to deliver the order. Orders will be handed over through courier.

``This is a new concept. We think it's going to catch up in the future,'' feels Venkateswar Rao, managing partner of the Hyderabad-based Dalven.

Though the mode of payment is Internet banking, cheque and cash will also be entertained.

``We don't have credit card payment facility now. But we may have it at a later stage,'' says DV Mallikarjuna Rao, co-partner of Dalven.

The site also offers tips on various printing related topics. Dalven Printers has also become the first in Andhra Pradesh to install Kodak's NexPress 2100 digital production colour press. The ability to use mixed paper stock and to electronically collate enables NexPress 2100 to easily manage all types of jobs.

The company hopes to double the productivity with the help of Kodak NexPress 2100.

``We were impressed by its high duty cycle, print quality and particularly its substrate flexibility which allows a wide variety of papers including textured papers. We have a huge demand for card-oriented applications and point of purchase promotional materials. NexPress can handle all these requirements with ease,'' says Venkateswar.

NexPress 2100 can handle paper sizes upto 350 x 470 mm (13.8 x 18.5 inches). The company wants to focus on the high-end sector and take a strategic position between copy shops and offset printing companies.
