MUMBAI: Dubai is inviting Indian IT companies to set up shop in the free zone dedicated to the outsourcing industry.
Announcing the appointment of IT-People as its exclusive representative in India for promoting and marketing Dubai Outsourcing Zone (DOZ), its director Ismail Al Naqi said: “We are providing one-stop shop of support services and the best possible working environment. The business incentives include 100 percent exemption from income and corporate taxes, complete ownership of their business, 100 percent repatriation of capital and profits, no currency restrictions and reduced real estate costs.”
The DOZ is expected to be operational in 2006. This outsourcing cluster has already registered 65 companies and has assured them one-lakh knowledge workers over a period of three years.
DOZ is looking to attract knowledge workers from various countries including India. This could attract many outsourcing companies eyeing non-English speaking professionals.
DOZ has set strict regulations that do not allow for frequent job changes. Apart from luring outsourcing companies to set up shop in Dubai, Al Naqi is also pushing companies to build disaster recovery centers.
