Aztec posts strong revenue-profit picture

Year-on-year revenues up by 136% and net profits up by 134%

BANGALORE: Aztec Software & Technology Services Ltd (Aztec) on Monday announced its financial results for the second quarter and half year ended September 30, 2005.

In the second quarter, revenues increased 136% to Rs 48.01 crores, compared to Rs 20.31 during the corresponding period a year ago. The profit after tax of the company jumped 134% over the same period from Rs 3.85 crore to Rs 9 crore.

Sequentially, Aztec has recorded revenue growth of 13.6% to Rs 48.01 crores from Rs 42.28 crores recorded in the previous quarter. Profit after tax showed a sequential growth of 21.90 % from Rs. 7.38 crores.

During the quarter, Aztec added 15 new clients. The total active client count increased to 67 in Q2-06 from 61 in Q1-06. Infrastructure continues to get attention to take on growing needs. During the quarter, capacity was augmented to over 229,000 Sq ft. spread over Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad. Further increase in capacity is being projected for Hyderabad in the next quarter.
