Bangalore based start-up Manthan Systems, which provides business intelligence products and solutions in the niche area of retail and consumer packaged goods, intends to go super-niche soon with product versions for segments within the retail vertical.
“ We plan to go even more niche and bring out vertical variations of our two products for specific areas like fashion and lifestyle, food and groceries and merchandise,” said Atul Jalan, MD and CEO OF Manthan Systems. He added that the beta versions of these products are available and would be released to the market in two month's time.
Jalan said that the company decided to create these versions based on customer feedback. He said that future versions of their products would include additional features like predictive analytics and “artificial intelligence.” Explaining the latter feature, he said that this was a tool that would enable retail firms to measure the return of investment of advertising and marketing and in-depth consumer behavior.
Manthan's product named ARC provides analysis and reporting tools while its second product ASTRA enables them to maintain dashboards and also a score carding functionality.
Besides products, the company also has a small but growing services division which is involved in high-end data research reporting.
Manthan Systems currently has 200 employees on its rolls and plans to expand. “We are adding around 25 people every quarter,” said Jalan. He also intends to extend the company's marketing footprint by opening offices in London, Paris and other overseas locations to tap into the retail clientele.
While Jalan did not reveal the company's present revenues, he is confident of growing the business by 200% and breaking even in a year's time.
