PUNE: Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT) won the National Telecom Grandmasters 2005 hosted by the Symbiosis Institute of Telecom Management (SITM), in association with Idea Cellular.
Harshavardhan Ketkar and Arnab Pal represented the Pune-based winning team. The team from Symbiosis Institute of Management Sciences (SIMS), also from Pune, came second while the team from Avaya India Pvt Ltd, Pune, was third.
The event had a nationwide presence with around 1200 participants for the preliminary rounds from 19 cities through an online facility provided by Hughes Escorts Communications Ltd. Of the 800 student participants, teams from VIT, SIMS and ICFAI, Hyderabad made it to the finals.
Among the 200 corporate teams that participated, Computer Associates, Bangalore and Avaya India Pvt Ltd, Pune won.
