NEW DELHI: eBay, the world's online market place, has announced the launch of eBay India (www. eBay.in), the completion of which is targeted by March 30, 2005. This marks the final integration of Baazee.com's technology platform with eBay's platform. eBay India now joins the eBay worldwide family of sites with a common global visual identity. Buyers and sellers in India now have access to a global trading community of 135 million users in 32 markets worldwide. In addition, Indian buyers and sellers enjoy a more stable and robust platform. Baazee.com country manager Avinash Bajaj said, "We are bringing eBay to India and maintaining the largest person to person trading community in the country. Our communities of users are extremely innovative, entrepreneurial and creative and we look forward to providing them all with greater economic opportunities and better trading experience overall." He added that Indian sellers could sell their product by listing them on any of the 32-eBay market sites. "It will allow Indian users to trade locally, regionally and globally along with the rest of eBay's worldwide community of users," he further informed. eBay International VP Gil Penchina said, "eBay India like all the eBay sites around the world, offers a platform for the sale of goods and services for a diverse community of individuals and small businesses. We think that Baazee's local expertise combined with eBay's global know-how will do great things for India's e- commerce". He further added that eBay worked closely with Baazee.com community to ensure that the integration process ran smoothly.
