BANGALORE: EV Ramana Reddy has been appointed as the new IT Secretary for the Government of Karnataka. This was confirmed by IT and Tourism Minister DB Indamdar, Government of Karnataka, "He has taken the additional charge as the IT Secretary," referring to the existing role of Commissioner for Agriculture for the State government.
CIOL had reported on October 11 that he is being tipped to be the next IT secretary.
The department of IT is not new to him as he was the Director for IT, before being moved to the agriculture department, earlier this year.
With IT, Outsourcing and Bio-Technology gala events around the corner, Reddy posting was an immediate requirement.. The two-day India Outsourcing Summit is scheduled to start tomorrow and the international BangaloreIT.com will be commencing on November 1st, shortly followed by The BIO 2003.
The appointment comes a week after Vivek Kulkarni opted for VRS and is rumored to be venturing in to the corporate world by starting a BPO venture.
