I am using Tomcat in my web application; through it I am sending mail using Java Mail but the problem is that it could not import the following package import javax.mail.*; import javax.activation.*; import javax.mail.internet.*, why so? What is the right way of doing it?

As it is mentioned everywhere that Interfaces in Java provides multiple inheritance and its a contract between the user to provide the implementation of the methods in Interface if implemented by the user class. But I don't see any use of using Interfaces and I believe it is more useful for remote communication. Need your opinion on this area.

I have a doubt regarding the Main Process and its child processes (threads) in Java. Does Main Process wait for its child threads to complete the execution and then terminates itself or execution and termination of Main and child process is completely independent of each other?

I am running Oralce RDBMS as backend and a VB .Net application as the frontend. I want to do duplication of data at two ends such that in case of breakdown of LAN /WAN the systems connected at remote location can keep working with a local system acting as data server and when the connectivity is resumed the data on the main server gets updated. Can you guide me with the solution?
