Compudyne Q1 profits up 81%

BANGALORE: The Bangalore-based Compudyne Winfosystems Ltd. (CWL), has

achieved a sales turnover of Rs 836.46 lakh for the three months ended June 30,

2001 as against Rs 373.01 lakh in the corresponding period last year,

registering a growth of 124 %.

The net profit for the quarter ended increased to Rs195.62 lakh as against Rs

107.98 lakh for the corresponding previous year registering a growth of 81.16 %.

The EPS for the quarter ended June 30, 2001 stood at 3.12 as compared to 1.72 in

the corresponding period last year.

According to Compudyne’s chairman and managing director S S Dahiya,

"The highlight of the last quarter was the acquisition of Vision Art, the

Santa Monica Studio’s (SMS) arm that produces visual effects for a

consideration of $4 million. This has given our multimedia operations a head

start in the US since this would provide access to a large client base".

"The acquisition will help us achieve at least 70% growth in the current

fiscal with the multimedia division contributing nearly 60% of our revenues as

against the current 40%" said Dahiya.
