Sonic also made it into the paid-for lists, with the Sonic the Hedgehog app coming third in the iPhone chart and ninth in the iPad chart.

Crime role-play game Grand Theft Auto III, based on a controversial video game which has been criticised for its graphic violence, charted fourth in the paid-for iPhone chart and sixth in the paid-for iPad chart.
