Deploying mySAP Workplace as an open enterprise portal platform via Citrix

MetaFrame server will enable SAP customers to integrate business-critical

Windows and Unix applications quickly, securely and in a cost-effective manner.

Citrix Systems also announced that SAP AG has broadened its internal adoption of

Citrix MetaFrame application server software and Independent Computing

Architecture (ICA) technology to give employees easy, rapid access to

applications.

SAP AG has implemented Citrix MetaFrame application server software

internally to provide high-performance deployment of more than 40 applications

to employees worldwide while lowering computing costs. Using Citrix MetaFrame,

SAP AG is on its way to achieve its goals of improving application performance

and reducing total cost of ownership (TCO).

SAP AG began its deployment of Citrix technology in 1998 with plans to use

MetaFrame servers to manage and deliver a wide variety of applications in

particular, the SAPGUI and Microsoft Office Suite to users. SAP has now expanded

its use of MetaFrame to 50 servers and has more than 3,000 users. This apart,

MetaFrame is being used extensively in SAP training centers around the world.
