Cisco's comprehensive mobility solutions

BANGALORE, INDIA: Cisco Systems Inc. is working on comprehensive mobility solutions that can work on multiple devices connected across networks.

“We are close to finalizing agreements with industry leaders towards building comprehensive mobility solutions,” said Maciej Kranz, vice president, Marketing, Wireless Networking Business unit, Cisco in Tele-presence conference with journalists from Hong Kong.

Cisco has a strategy to incorporate new types of services into the network, besides enabling drive the interoperability among users, devices, application and networks. “It is all about partnerships. “Our partnership on using the mobility solutions on applications like Adobe, Oracle, Microsoft was a starting point,” Kranz said.

According to Cisco estimates, the mobility market will grow to $13 billion by 2010. The recent acquisition of Navini and Orative has given the company an edge in incorporating mobility in WiMax, Wi-Fi, RFID/location based service and MESH.
