BANGALORE, INDIA: LSI Corporation today announced that Jeff Richardson has been appointed to the newly created position of executive vice president and chief operating officer.
In his new capacity, he will oversee all marketing, engineering and manufacturing aspects of the company’s product operations. Richardson will continue to report Abhi Talwalkar, LSI president and chief executive officer, said a press release.
“Over the past six years, Jeff has been instrumental in helping drive the transformation of LSI to become a highly-focused leader in enabling the storage and networking markets,” said Abhi Talwalkar, LSI president and chief executive officer.
He added, “In his new role, I have great confidence that Jeff will further increase our focus on delighting customers through strong execution, high quality products and great customer service.”
Richardson joined LSI in June, 2005, and most recently served as executive vice president of the LSI Semiconductor Solutions Group. He previously served in senior executive roles leading the LSI Network and Storage Products Group, the LSI Custom Solutions Group and corporate strategy function.
Prior to joining LSI, Richardson was vice president and general manager of Intel’s Enterprise Solutions and Services Division.
The company also announced that Phil Bullinger, executive vice president and general manager of the LSI Engenio Storage Group, will be leaving the company in May, 2011, following the expected completion of the company’s sale of its external storage systems business to NetApp Inc, the release added.
Talwalkar continued, “I would like to thank Phil for his many years of service to LSI and to the Engenio business, which has contributed greatly to the company under his leadership. We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
